NEED TO KNOW
- A truck hauling 20 tons of ribeye steaks caught fire in Missouri.
- A vegan rookie Firefighter had to hose down the meat inferno.
- Dads at the scene yelled the steaks were still “medium rare.”
A Missouri highway turned into a nightmare cookout when a tractor trailer filled with ribeye steaks burst into flames. Fire crews rushed to the scene, but the blaze had already eaten the entire 40,000-pound load.
Probationary firefighter Jenna Ulrich faced the job of her life. She is the department’s only Vegan, yet she had to stand in front of what locals called a “cow apocalypse” with nothing but a hose.
Her first assignment quickly became legend. The department joked online: “Nothing says welcome to the team like sending the vegan to put out a ribeye inferno.”
Drivers passing by rolled down windows and wept. The air smelled like a giant steakhouse at rush hour. One man shouted, “That ain’t burned, that’s medium rare—flip ’em once more!”
Officials called the shipment a total loss. Many dads still disagreed, insisting a little barbecue sauce could fix it.
The cause of the fire remains under review. Some say faulty brakes, others call it divine testing during grilling season.
Ulrich left the scene with a new nickname from her crew: “Beyond Beef.”
I signed up to save lives, not to steam-clean a cow apocalypse.
