- Ruby Tuesday calls Cracker Barrel’s new logo “an ugly mustard stain with confidence.”
- Company assures America it still has “that one location next to the mall that hasn’t closed yet.”
- Salad bar claims it is “still the only green thing Ruby Tuesday serves.”
Ruby Tuesday shocked the branding world today by releasing a statement applauding Cracker Barrel’s “bold decision to alienate their loyal customers with a design that looks like clip art from Windows 95.”
“We at Ruby Tuesday know the sting of a failed rebrand,” the company said. “So to our friends at Cracker Barrel: welcome to the club. You’ll find the entrance right between ‘Nobody Eats Here Anymore’ and ‘Didn’t They Go Bankrupt Already?’”
The statement also offered sympathy to Cracker Barrel’s fans: “Loyalty is hard to build and easy to lose. Just ask anyone who remembers Ruby Tuesday’s glory days before Applebee’s took our lunch money.”
Despite years of decline, Ruby Tuesday insisted the brand is still relevant. Executives reminded the public that their famous salad bar is “alive, lukewarm, and probably growing its own culture of probiotics.”
Every brand has an identity crisis, but only Ruby Tuesday can say we survived ours by serving fries under a Tiffany lamp
