Trump to Walmart: Eat the Tariffs, Don’t Raise Prices or Else

Says “profits are a mindset” and inflation can be fixed with patriotism and coupons

Economic Strategy: Blame Walmart

PALM BEACH — Former President Donald Trump has issued a bold new economic directive: Walmart must stop blaming tariffs for rising prices and instead “eat the cost like a man.” Speaking at a rally-turned-policy-seminar outside a Bass Pro Shop, Trump declared, “Walmart has made enough money. Now it’s their turn to chip in for America.”

He added, “They roll back prices — why not roll back their attitude?”

Tariffs? Just a Suggestion

Trump’s new tariffs, which apply to billions in goods from China, have sparked concerns over inflation. Walmart, which sells nearly everything not nailed down, warned customers of rising prices. Trump responded by suggesting Walmart was “being dramatic” and reminded the company that “tariffs are just taxes with more freedom.”

He added, “I told Walmart to stop whining and start winning. They can put America first or move to Canada where the maple syrup runs wild.”

Fed Up With the Fed

Alongside his Walmart directive, Trump once again called for the Federal Reserve to slash interest rates. “Rates should be at zero, or even negative,” he said. “When I was president, we had beautiful rates. Gorgeous rates. The best. Ask anyone.”

Insiders say he believes interest rates are determined by how confidently you speak about them.

Walmart Remains Silent, Prices Do Not

Walmart declined to comment, though one executive was spotted shaking his head while staring into a discount bin of off-brand garden gnomes. Meanwhile, prices on everyday items like toothpaste, school supplies, and lawn furniture continue their steady climb.

At press time, Trump was reportedly planning to offer an exclusive “Trump Tariff Discount Card,” which provides no actual savings but plays Lee Greenwood when scanned.
