BREAKING – Thousands of millennials and Gen Zers, also known as Zoomers, lined up at banks across the country on Sunday to withdraw their money after rumors spread of bank failures on social media apps, such as Instagram and TikTok. Little did they know, banks are actually closed on Sundays, leaving many confused and frustrated.
“I can’t believe they’re closed! How am I supposed to get my money out?” exclaimed Sarah Sufers, a 21-year-old Zoomer who was waiting in line at her local bank.
Many of the young customers expressed their disbelief and confusion, admitting that they had never stepped foot in a physical bank branch before.
“I thought banks were open 24/7. I mean, everything else is these days,” said Alex Chen, a 23-year-old Zoomer who was also waiting in line recording his experience so he can share it with his followers on social media.
The situation quickly escalated as the crowds grew larger and tensions started to ran high. Police tried to calm the customers, explaining that the banks were closed on Sundays and that their money was safe.
But the Zoomers were not easily convinced. “I don’t trust the banks. They’re always trying to scam us,” said Mark Rodriguez, a 22-year-old college student.
Many were left feeling embarrassed and out of touch. “I guess I should have done my research before panicking and coming here on a Sunday,” admitted Johnson.
This bizarre incident serves as a reminder of the growing disconnect between younger generations and traditional financial institutions. With the rise of online banking and fintech apps, physical bank branches may become a thing of the past, leaving Millenials and Zoomers even more bewildered in future financial crises.
