A man has filed for divorce from his wife because she tells better dad jokes than he does. The man, who requested anonymity, claimed that his wife’s comedic ability was causing him significant distress, and he believed he had lost respect from his children as a result.
Sources close to the couple revealed that the husband had been struggling with his wife’s sense of humor for years. Despite his best efforts to come up with clever one-liners and witty puns, he could never quite match her comedic talent. This, according to friends, had left him feeling demoralized and frustrated.
“I’ve always considered myself a funny guy,” the husband reportedly said. “But every time I try to make a joke, my wife just comes in with something better. It’s like she has a sixth sense for humor. And to be honest, I think my kids are starting to prefer her jokes to mine. I just can’t compete.”
The man allegedly confronted his wife about the issue, but she was unapologetic. “I can’t help it if I’m naturally hilarious,” she is said to have responded. “Maybe you should try harder.”
The husband ultimately decided that he could not live with the embarrassment of being out-joked by his wife. He filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences in sense of humor.
The wife, who was reportedly shocked by her husband’s decision, spoke out about the situation in a tearful statement. “I never imagined that my sense of humor could cause such a rift in our family,” she said. “I just love making people laugh, and I never intended for it to cause any harm.
