Triple Rant with Extra Chaos
MAR-A-LAGO — Donald Trump posted an overnight tirade on Truth Social that took aim at the Supreme Court, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift. He accused the Court of weakness. He mocked Springsteen’s working-class image. He also declared Taylor Swift overrated, claiming her popularity had peaked.
The post hit just after midnight, a timeslot now widely known among staff as “the chaos window.”
Swifties Set Boundaries
Swift fans responded fast. One said, “He can insult disabled people, the media, military generals, war heroes, immigrants, Congresswomen, Asian negotiators, Iowans, Native Americans, Haitians, African Nations, women, African Americans, Muslims, and Mexican immigrants… but not Taylor!”
Within hours, “Defend Taylor” trended higher than several presidential hashtags.
Springsteen: Still Silent, Still Cool
Trump repeated his long-standing claim that Born in the U.S.A. isn’t patriotic. He added that Bruce “hasn’t written a good song since trucker hats stopped being ironic.” Supporters of Springsteen ignored the jab. No response came from the rocker himself.
Others noted that Bruce’s silence might be louder than a Truth Social post.
Congress Avoids Collateral Damage
Trump’s post also pushed for fast passage of his tax plan. He urged Republicans to act before Taylor Swift drops “another overpriced deluxe album.” Members of Congress chose not to engage. A few staffers reportedly asked whether Swift could be nominated to the Supreme Court just to shift the focus.
One House aide whispered, “We’ll pass anything if it keeps us out of this.”
