Move Over Math, Here Comes MAGA
Oklahoma’s Department of Education announced this week that any teacher who moves from New York or California must pass a new “America First” certification exam before stepping foot in a classroom. The test, written in partnership with conservative media company PragerU, is designed to, in the words of State Superintendent Ryan Walters, “make sure no coastal indoctrinators teach our kids about pronouns, Marxism, or basic election math.”
The policy offers up to $50,000 in signing bonuses but only after applicants correctly answer questions like “Which president actually won the 2020 election?” and “What is the only true biological gender?” Walters said teachers who fail the exam will be “lovingly escorted” to a temporary reeducation camp located behind a Bass Pro Shop near Tulsa.

Several sample questions already appeared on social media. They include:

Teachers Unions Not Amused
Union leaders called the test “a brilliant way to scare away every qualified teacher in the country.” One California teacher said, “I can handle tornadoes and long recess duty, but I draw the line at being quizzed on conspiracy theories.”
Despite the backlash, Walters insists the policy is working. “We’ve already had four applications,” he said, “and two of them passed the flag section on the first try.” The state plans to expand the test to teachers from Illinois and Massachusetts next year, and may add a bonus question called “Name three reasons Trump is still the rightful president.”
