Los Angeles, California – The FBI has arrested Keanu Reeves, the actor who played Neo in “The Matrix” movie franchise, for allegedly taking the red pill.
According to the FBI’s glossary of key terms associated with violent extremism, taking the red pill is an indication of adopting racist, anti-Semitic, or fascist beliefs. As a result, the agency has been closely monitoring individuals who use the term online and investigating them for potential threats.
“We have reason to believe that Mr. Reeves has taken the red pill and has been involved in activities that could lead to violent extremism,” said an FBI spokesperson, who wished to remain anonymous.
Reeves, who has been known for his philanthropic work and humble personality, has denied the allegations and stated that he was merely acting in a movie.
“I was just playing a character in a movie, and the red pill was just a plot device,” said Reeves in a statement. “I have always been committed to equality, justice, and peace, and I would never support any form of extremism or violence.”
Fans of Reeves have taken to social media to express their disbelief and outrage over the arrest, with many calling for his immediate release.
“He’s one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, and they’re arresting him for taking a pill in a movie? This is ridiculous!” tweeted one fan.
As of now, Reeves remains in custody and is awaiting trial. The case has sparked a heated debate over the limits of law enforcement’s monitoring of online activity and the potential for misinterpretation of common internet lingo.
