Elon Musk Tries to Buy Naming Rights for Next Generation, Only to Discover ‘Gen X’ Was Already Taken

Elon Musk reportedly attempted to purchase the naming rights for the next generation of babies, aiming to leave his mark on future history. However, the tech mogul was left fuming when he discovered that his top choice, “Gen X,” had already been claimed by a generation born decades ago. Let that sink in.

Musk’s Grand Plan for Baby Branding

According to insiders, Musk’s latest brainwave was to influence the very fabric of society by branding the next generation with a name that reflects his love for innovation, minimalism, and, of course, the letter “X.” His plan? To buy the naming rights, ensuring that every baby born in the next 20 years would belong to the illustrious “Gen X” – a name that, in his mind, encapsulated the essence of his futuristic vision.

“Musk saw this as a way to shape the future,” said a source close to the situation. “He figured that if he could get everyone calling the next wave of kids ‘Gen X,’ it would solidify his legacy as the man who defined an era. Plus, it’s a cool letter.”

The Harsh Reality of Generational Naming

Unfortunately for Musk, not even his billions could alter the past. To his dismay, he discovered that “Gen X” was already in use, having been assigned to those born between the mid-1960s and early 1980s. The revelation reportedly came as a shock to the billionaire, who had assumed that such a forward-thinking designation would be up for grabs.

“He just couldn’t believe it,” said another insider. “He kept saying, ‘But X is my thing!’ Apparently, no one had the heart to explain that Gen X has been around longer than most of his companies.”

What’s in a Name? Apparently, Everything

Musk’s obsession with the letter “X” is no secret. From SpaceX to his child’s name, X Æ A-12, the letter has become something of a trademark for the entrepreneur. So, it’s no wonder he had his sights set on labeling an entire generation with it.

Despite the setback, sources claim Musk isn’t giving up. He’s reportedly brainstorming other generational names, although insiders say “Gen Æ” and “Gen X-2” are unlikely to catch on. “He’s determined to leave his mark,” said a close associate. “If he can’t have ‘Gen X,’ he’ll just have to invent something new – maybe ‘Gen Z+’ or ‘Gen Next.'”

The World Reacts: A Mix of Amusement and Bewilderment

News of Musk’s generational naming ambitions has sparked a range of reactions. Some people are amused by the idea of a billionaire trying to trademark a generation, while others are simply bewildered. “It’s classic Musk,” said one observer. “He thinks so far ahead that sometimes he forgets history has already happened.”

Social media, of course, has had a field day with the news. Memes of Musk photoshopped into ‘90s grunge bands or standing next to Gen X icons have flooded the internet, further cementing his unexpected connection to the very generation he hoped to rename.
