Houston, TX – Senator Ted Cruz, known for his recent criticism of Bud Light for being out of touch with their consumers, has come under fire for forgetting his own out-of-touch moment when he flew to Cancun during a crisis in Texas.
During a recent interview, Senator Cruz slammed Bud Light for their decision to have a transgender influencer as a paid spokesperson, claiming that the company’s advertising department does not understand its typical consumers and is embracing a left-wing agenda.
“Have they ever met a typical Bud Light drinker?” Cruz asked. “These woke corporations have decided that their customers are idiots, that they look down on their customers.”
However, many Texans are now reminding Cruz that he himself seemed to have forgotten about his own constituents’ needs when he flew to Cancun during a severe winter storm that left millions of Texans without power or heat.
“Ted Cruz has some nerve criticizing Bud Light for being out of touch with Texans when he himself fled the state during a crisis,” said a Houston resident who wished to remain anonymous. “It’s like he’s forgotten that we were freezing in our homes while he was sipping margaritas on a sunny beach.”
Cruz’s comments about boycotts and going broke also drew criticism from some Texans, who accused him of being more interested in Twitter praise than in serving his constituents.
“Senator Cruz seems to think that boycotts are the way to go, but he forgets that he himself is already facing a backlash from Texans who feel he’s out of touch,” said a Dallas resident. “Maybe he should focus on serving his constituents instead of worrying about what Bud Light is doing.”
Despite the criticism, Senator Cruz has continued to double down on his comments about Bud Light, claiming that the company’s advertising department is not interested in what their customers want.
“It’s clear that Bud Light doesn’t know what the people of Texas want,” Cruz said in a recent press conference. “But I do. I know what Texans want, and it’s not some transgender influencer pushing a left-wing agenda.”
However, some Texans are calling out Senator Cruz for his own questionable actions and suggesting that he’s the one who’s out of touch with his constituents.
“It’s ironic that Senator Cruz is criticizing Bud Light for being out of touch with Texans when he himself seems to have forgotten that he represents us,” said a San Antonio resident. “He’s more concerned with his political agenda than with serving the people who elected him.”
Others pointed out that Bud Light, like many corporations, is simply trying to appeal to a broader audience and be more inclusive. “It’s not just about selling beer to the same old crowd,” said a Fort Worth resident. “Companies need to evolve and adapt to stay relevant, and Bud Light is doing just that. Senator Cruz could learn a thing or two about progress and inclusivity.”
At this time, it’s unclear whether Senator Cruz will face any consequences for his comments about Bud Light or for his previous actions during the Texas winter storm crisis. But one thing is certain: Texans won’t forget the time when their senator left them in the cold to go on a tropical getaway.
