Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has publicly pleaded with billionaire philanthropist George Soros to use his supposed “space laser” to protect the southern border of the United States from invasion.
Greene, a known conspiracy theorist who has previously claimed that wildfires in California were started by Jewish space lasers, now believes that Soros has the power to protect the country from illegal immigration.
In a press conference outside the Capitol building, Greene addressed Soros directly, saying, “Mr. Soros, if you’re listening, we need your help. We need you to point your space laser at the southern border and protect us from the hordes of illegal immigrants who are trying to invade our country.”
She went on to explain that the border crisis was a national emergency and that traditional methods of border security were not enough. “We need something bigger, something stronger, something from outer space,” she exclaimed.
Soros, who has been the target of numerous right-wing conspiracy theories, has not responded to Greene’s request. However, sources close to him have dismissed the idea of a space laser as “completely ridiculous.”
The incident has drawn widespread criticism from both sides of the aisle, with many calling Greene’s comments dangerous and unfounded. Some have even suggested that her conspiracy theories could incite violence against Soros and other prominent figures.
In response to the backlash, Greene doubled down on her comments, insisting that Soros was the only one who could save the country from the supposed invasion. “If George Soros doesn’t step up and help us, who will?” she asked.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Greene’s plea to Soros will be successful or if her belief in a space laser will continue to shape her political agenda. However, one thing is for sure – this latest incident has once again highlighted the dangerous influence of conspiracy theories in American politics.
